Transporting three women from the frontier by covered wagon to relative civilization of Iowa, the fiercely independent Mary, played by Oscar winner Hilary Swank, soon realizes just how daunting the journey will be. As they head east, they must traverse the harsh Nebraska Territories and their own histories, marked by stark beauty, psychological peril and constant danger in this strikingly original Western.
