Sunday, June 26 at 3:00 p.m. Presented by: Doug Smith's Dixieland All-Stars Admission: Free Sponsored by: the Tunkhannock Rotary Club and Jean Mieczkowski The Dixieland All-Stars have been performing since 1989, when Doug Smith organized the band to fill an opening at the historic Skytop Lodge resort in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains, where Doug still leads the house orchestra and occasionally his 16-piece Big Band. The All-Stars is composed of Northeastern Pennsylvania's finest Dixieland/jazz performers, many of whom lead their own bands. Doug Smith is a rostered artist with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and is very busy performing in the public school system, libraries and parks. Doug Smith's All-Stars take a modern approach to Dixieland music while retaining the deep traditional roots of the medium. A light reception will follow the concert.
