A complete 9-day immersion into the world of the digital arts! New and experienced 9 to14 year olds will begin by exploring the goals of the Sit Next to Me Festival: understanding prejudice and the value of diversity. Movie making will follow with a role for everyone to produce a film to be submitted to a special Sit By Me film festival hosted by WVIA. Then on to Stop Motion, making the inanimate world come to life with clay, paper, Legos, and more. Student produced videos will be uploaded to WVIA’s website! Finally students will work on drawing skills and learn how to tell stories through pictures to create a cool comic book or manga (Japanese style comic book). The result will be an iBook with sound and video.
