1945 is a deeply moving look at what happens when Jewish people displaced during the war return to the homes they once knew and what ramifications that may have on their relationships with the people that still reside. When two Orthodox  Jews arrive at the village train station with mysterious boxes, the town clerk fears the men may be heirs of the village's deported and expects them to demand their illegally acquired property back. Other villagers are afraid more survivors will come, posing a threat to the property and possessions they have claimed as their own. What follows is a look at war, forgiveness and redemption in a time of great confusion and turmoil.

"A fresh, intelligent cinematic approach to a difficult topic that takes on a transitional time in Hungarian history with subtlety and nuance." ~  Variety
