>Railroad Photography Presentation
At the Dietrich Theater in downtown Tunkhannock
Saturday, October 19 at 11:00 a.m.
Presenter: Photographers Oren B. Helbok, member of Kitson Arts Alliance, and Kenny Ganz
Admission: Free
Join railroad and photography buffs Oren Helbok and Kenny Ganz for a morning of railroad photography and stories about their artwork at the Dietrich. Oren and his father, John Helbok, chased trains together and photographed alongside each other for more than fifty years. During this program, Oren will show examples of his own work and his father’s, describing the photos’ contexts and explaining how the two of them created separate but intimately related bodies of work. Kenny Ganz has been fortunate enough to blend his love of railroads and photography for the past 30 years as the official photographer for the National Park Service at Steamtown National Historic Site. He was instrumental in documenting the development of the park from its very beginnings in 1988 through its grand opening in 1995 and beyond. Aside from his park service work, Kenny has always been fascinated by railroads and through his lens has been able to capture his unique perspective on railroads and railroading nationwide. Tickets are available at 570-996-1500 or at the door while they last.
