Paul McCartney: Man on the Run explores what happened after Paul McCartney woke up the morning after leaving the most important rock band of all time. In April 1970, he released his first solo album, McCartney, accompanied by a press statement that confirmed The Beatles had split, and declared that his only plan was simply “to grow up.” This documentary captures Paul’s transformative decade in the aftermath, weaving together stunning archival footage, Linda McCartney’s intimate photography, and interviews with Mick Jagger, Chrissie Hynde, Sean Ono Lennon, Mary and Stella McCartney, the surviving Wings members, and Paul himself.
