The beautiful Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard plays a Polish immigrant in this moving and quintessentially American period drama.  Arriving in 1921 and separated from her sister at Ellis Island, she navigates increasingly difficult circumstances on the streets of old New York.  Her survival hinges on her own resiliency and the charms of two suitors-- a theater producer with ulterior motives played by the always mesmerizing Academy Award nominee Phoenix, and a dashing Jeremy Renner.
